Dedication
The Tibetan Buddhist deities are best viewed as aspects of the enlightened mind, or potential qualites of the human mind. Thus, Thousand Armed Chenrezig symbolises the ability to see what is needed and to assist with great skill, full awareness and an open and loving heart. Chenrezig is associated with the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, the best known of the family of Buddhist mantras. It refers to, and is sometimes known as, the Jewel in the Lotus, which translates symbolically as the Buddha nature or the quality of wisdom/wakefulness which lies in the heart of all beings. It is therefore a song in praise of the creative intelligence and worthiness of all life forms and hence, a song of compassion. |
